We are a new church plant in Abilene, TX, focused on building a community grounded in truth, love, and God's Word. At Abounding Fellowship, we emphasize a high view of God and a high view of Scripture, encouraging all members to grow deeply in their faith.

Though we may not have the full array of programs and amenities of an established church, our mission centers on cultivating a sincere love for others and a passion for studying and living out God's Word. We are committed to making disciples who love Jesus and who take seriously the call to serve one another.

Expository preaching is at the heart of our worship, but we also focus on building meaningful, personal relationships. Here, you will find a family of believers eager to know and support each other as we pursue holiness and obedience to Christ.

We invite you to join us as we seek to glorify God and share His love and truth with our community. Whether you're exploring faith for the first time or looking for a church that values depth and sincerity, we're excited to welcome you.

Why the name Abounding?

As Christians, through the blood of Christ and His redemptive work, we not only exist—we abound. The name "Abounding" reflects the fullness of life, love, and purpose we find in Him. It encapsulates the essence of our faith, marked by an overflow of His blessings in various aspects of our lives.

  • Abounding in Love:

    We are called to let Christ's love abound in us and through us to others. As Philippians 1:9 says, "And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment."

  • Abounding in Hope:

    Through the Holy Spirit, we abound in hope, even in challenging times. Romans 15:13 encourages us, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

  • Abounding in Good Works:

    God's grace enables us to abound in every good work, equipping us for all He calls us to do. 2 Corinthians 9:8 reminds us, "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."

  • Abounding in Thanksgiving:

    We are rooted and built up in Christ, abounding with gratitude for His unending grace. Colossians 2:7 exhorts us to be "abounding in thanksgiving."

  • Abounding in the Work of the Lord:

    We are encouraged to always give ourselves fully to His service, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. As stated in 1 Corinthians 15:58,"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."
